License to carry (LTC)

This course is taught by Texas License To Carry Instructors. It will provide you all the knowledge and skills required to apply for your Texas License To Carry permit.

With the Texas LTC you may apply for an Arizona LTC without taking another course.

Reasons to obtain your LTC even though Texas is now a Permitless Carry State:

1) Reciprocity in 31 States only with a Texas LTC permit. (Six other state agreements)

2) Knowledge of the laws and use of force

3) Allowed to conceal carry in more places depending on signage. 

4) Consequences for some infractions are much less.

5) LTC qualifies as an alternative to NICS Background checks

This course is approximately 8 hours and includes the following:

· Prerequisite of Gun Safety and Safe Storage 

· Laws that Relate to Weapons and the Use of Deadly Force

· Handgun Use and Safety

· Non-Violent Dispute Resolution

· Safe Storage

· Written Test: Passing score 70% 

· Live Fire Proficiency Demonstration

• Texas DPS LTC course of fire
• Passing Score is 70%

Provide required 1-2 hour of Range Instruction or if you have taken the following courses from Gunner Defense:

· NRA Basic Pistol Course

· Fundamentals of Defensive Pistol

· Concealed Carry Basic

· Knowledge of how to safely operate (load, unload and show clear) your pistol

· Note taking material

· Pistol: Semi-auto or revolver in a gun box or case

· Belt holster (Only holsters attached to a waist belt will be used on the range during practice. Holster is not used for the qualification)

· Ammunition: Factory loads only. Minimum of 150rounds.

· Eye and Hearing protection

· Water and snacks as required

· Comfortable and protective clothing for the range 

· Closed toed shoes

Those applying for License to Carry and gun owners looking to gain confidence in their ability to carry safely and effectively. 

Shooters must register at least 48hrs before the start date of the course. 

If the course has less than 3 people registered it may be cancelled and a full refund will be granted.

If Gunner Defense has to cancel a course for any reason a full refund will be granted.

Cancellations within 48hrs of the start of the course, $25 will be withheld from the refund to cover prior administration cost. Cancellation or no show on the day of the course no refund shall be granted.
