NRA Basic Personal Protection In the Home

This course is NRA Nationally Certified. Participant will learn the basic knowledge, skill, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, and provides information on the law-abiding individual’s right to self-defense.

For law-abiding adult citizens, as defined by federal, state, or local law, and experienced shooters. Participants can demonstrate knowledge by producing NRA Basic Pistol Course Certificate, NRA First Steps Course Certificate, NRA Pistol Competitive Shooting Qualification Card, Military DD214 with Pistol Qualification or passing the Pre-Course Assessment. (the latter is dictated by Instructor discretion, coordination and time constraints)

· Strategies for home safety and responding to a violent confrontation

· Firearms and the law

· How to choose a handgun for self-defense

· Basic defensive shooting skills

· Pistol of caliber .22LR to .45 (Min 6 shot capacity)

· We recommend using your home self-defense pistol

· Ammunition: 100 rounds of factory loaded ammunition 

· Eye and Hearing Protection

· Note taking material 

Individuals interested in defending their home and family through preventive measures and planned actions.

Shooters must register at least 48hrs before the start date of the course. 

If the course has less than 3 people registered it may be cancelled and a full refund will be granted.

If Gunner Defense has to cancel a course for any reason a full refund will be granted.

Cancellations within 48hrs of the start of the course, $50 will be withheld from the refund to cover prior administration cost. Cancellation or no show on the day of the course no refund shall be granted.

*Time of the course is at least 8 hours. Some course may run longer.

*At the completion of this course you will be awarded a nationally recognized NRA Certificate. 

*This course is a prerequisite for the NRA Personal Protection Inside the Home and Instructor course.
