NRA Basic Personal Protection Outside the Home

This course is NRA Nationally Certified. Participant will learn the basic knowledge, skill, and attitude essential to the safe and efficient use of a handgun for protection of self and family, and provides information on the law-abiding individual’s right to self-defense.

Adult individuals who are not disqualified from possessing a firearm defined by federal, state, or local law and are of good repute and possess defensive pistol skills presented in the NRA Basics of Personal Protection In the Home Course. Prospective participants can demonstrate requisite knowledge, skills and attitudes by producing an NRA Basic Personal Protection In the Home Course Certificate, or by passing the pre-course evaluation. (the latter is dictated by Instructor discretion, coordination and time constraints) 

· Strategies for home safety and responding to a violent confrontation

· Firearms and the law

· How to choose a handgun for self defense

· Basic defensive shooting skills

· Pistol of caliber between .38Cal to .45Cal (Min 10 shot capacity)

· We recommend using the same pistol used for concealed carry

· 2 Magazines min.

· Ammunition: 250 rounds of factory loaded ammunition 

· Eye and Hearing Protection

· Note taking material

Individuals looking to learn Outside the Home Defense with a firearm. 

Shooters must register at least 48hrs before the start date of the course. 

If the course has less than 3 people registered it may be cancelled and a full refund will be granted.

If Gunner Defense has to cancel a course for any reason a full refund will be granted.

Cancellations within 48hrs of the start of the course, $50 will be withheld from the refund to cover prior administration cost. Cancellation or no show on the day of the course no refund shall be granted.
